Dr. Marc Sosnowchik

Marc Sosnowchik currently serves as Assistant Director of Bands at Oklahoma State University where he assists with the Cowboy Marching Band, Spirit Band, conducts the Concert Band, and teaches courses in music education. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Sosnowchik was Assistant Instructor with University Bands at The University of Texas at Austin where his responsibilities included assisting with and conducting the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphony Band, and Concert Bands, writing arrangements and drill performed by the Longhorn Band, and coordinating The University of Texas Art of Band Conducting and Rehearsing Workshop held each summer.

A Birmingham native, Dr. Sosnowchik was Assistant Director of Bands at Louis Pizitz Middle School in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. In addition to his responsibilities at Pizitz Middle School, he conducted the Tuscaloosa Winds - a community band housed on the campus of The University of Alabama. Dr. Sosnowchik has worked as a staff member for the Music for All/Bands of America Summer Symposium and National Festival, as well as clinician for events in Texas, Georgia, and Alabama.

Dr. Sosnowchik holds his Bachelor of Science degree in music education from The University of Alabama, and both his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in wind conducting from The University of Texas at Austin. His affiliations include the College Band Directors National Association, Texas Music Educators Association, National Band Association, Pi Kappa Lambda, and Phi Mu Alpha.
