Hwaju Lee performs regularly as a soloist and collaborative pianist in Texas, Indiana, Illinois, Oklahoma, and South Korea. Recently, she finished her doctoral course work from Ball State University in Piano Performance. There, she was awarded a full scholarship and served as a full-time teaching and accompanying graduate assistant. She received her M.M. at the University of North Texas, and studied harpsichord and forte piano with Prof. Christopher Hammer, piano with Prof. Joseph Banowetz, and collaborative piano with Dr. Steven Harlos. Ms. Lee received her B.M. at Kangnung National University where she was awarded with academic scholarships. She also studied at Pohang Art High School as a Piano Performance Major.

Ms. Lee has earned various scholarships including the Dean's Camerata (2011), Texas Public Education Grant (2010-11), Auxiliary Services (2010-11), Vivian Spohn Music (2010-11), Justine Boozman Beattie (2009-11), and Organ/Harpsichord (2008-09) Scholarships. She also won 3rd prize at the Bella Voce Competition, Honorable Mention at the Daegu Art University Competition, and was a finalist at the Daegu Catholic University, Cheongju University, Jeonju University, and Gwangju University Competitions (S. Korea).

As an active performer, Ms. Lee was invited as a Guest Collaborative Artist at Northern Illinois University with Dr. Brittany Hendricks (Trumpet Professor at Ball State University) and Honor's Graduate Concert at Kangnung National University. She has also performed with Ball State University's Choral Union, Women's Chorus, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, and Department of Dance and Theater. In addition, she has worked with the University of North Texas' Baroque Orchestra and Kangnung City Wind Orchestra.

Ms. Lee has a passion for teaching and finds it fulfilling to see students' progress. In addition to teaching in a private studio for over 15 years, she has taught piano courses at Ball State University and Indiana Wesleyan University. She was also a private instructor at In-Home Music Teacher, LLC in Dallas. Ms. Lee also has organized student recitals and many of her students have won competitions, including Young Artist Competition at Kangnung National University, Music Education News Competition, and Eumaksekye Young Artist Competition in S. Korea.

Currently, Ms. Lee is a collaborative pianist at Oklahoma State University. She also performs with the Stillwater Chamber Singers and serves as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Pohang Art High School (S. Korea).
