Mr. Wayne Bovenschen

Wayne Bovenschen is Associate Professor of Percussion and Assistant Director of Bands at Oklahoma State University. In this capacity, he instructs the Concert Percussion Ensemble, Marching Percussion Ensemble, studio lessons, percussion techniques class, assists with the Cowboy Marching Band, serves as webmaster for the Department of Music , co-sponsor of the Alpha Chapters of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma, and conducts the OSU Spirit Band. A graduate of Michigan State University, Mr. Bovenschen holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music in Applied Percussion.
The OSU Concert Percussion Ensemble was selected as one of two university ensembles to present a showcase concert at the 1996 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) on November 21 in Nashville, Tennessee. The OSU Marching Percussion Ensemble has participated numerous times in the PASIC Marching Percussion Forum, placing as high as second in 2001 in Nashville, TN.
Mr. Bovenschen's prior teaching experience includes percussion instructor for the Michigan State University Spartan Percussion Section, Lansing Community College, Northern Aurora, Suncoast Sound, and Black Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. He has performed with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra and the Cavaliers and Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps. Mr. Bovenschen is also a member of the Percussive Arts Society serving as president of the Oklahoma Chapter (1996-98), International Association of Rudimental Percussionists, MENC, Kappa Kappa Psi, Tau Beta Sigma, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and serves as a clinician for Ludwig Industries and Vic Firth, Inc.
